Yesterday, the Financials for Office 365 team participated in a fun event as part of the Vivid Sydney Festival. Joel made the introduction jumping off his motorbike in front of the crowd with the lights of the Harbour Bridge lit in the background. Check out the video below where he talks about risk taking required for technology companies in today's ever changing cloudscape. As a participant in Crocodile Pit, we pitched our business to the crowd where we talked about the enourmous opportunity as a later stage startup company aligned with Microsoft and it's ever growing base of business cloud users. We talked about the latent problem of the needs of small to growing businesses in the accounting space for a more powerful cloud solution whether it be transaction load, multi-entity accounts or integrated inventory, job costing, etc. As the world of tech moves on the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT), we want to get our customers closer to this with an integrated platform of Microsoft technologies where their productivity tools seamlessly work with their backend finance team on Financials and their sales and marketing group using their CRM solution. Four other companies also pitched including Tapview (Readership payment made easy), Carrot (Financial Goal Setting for Women), Simple KYC (Backoffice streamlining for institutions like banks), and Spriggy (Financial literacy for kids) each with their own unique value proposition for the market. Thank you to Stone&Chalk and AWS for putting on the event!
